Wintermester to Be Offered following the Fall 2024 Semester
The faculty’s hope is that the adjustments will provide students with options to help them graduate at their desired time.
Over the course of this semester, MC faculty has been developing a more efficient way for students to earn their college credits over winter break.
After the fall 2024 semester, students will be offered the opportunity to take accelerated classes during the three-week break period. The faculty’s hope is that the adjustments will provide students with options to help them graduate at their desired time.
“We hope to provide more opportunities for students to take classes during the winter break so that they can stay on pace to graduate in four years,” said Christian Studies Department Chair Dr. Evan Lenow. “We know that going to college can be expensive and there is personal and financial pressure to finish on time. Therefore, the winter term will make it easier for students to get the classes they need in order to graduate in a reasonable amount of time.”
At the moment, there is much ambiguity around what classes will be offered during this timeframe. The Office of the Provost and Registrar could not be reached for comments.
“I can only speak for the Christian Studies department on which classes will be offered,” said Lenow. “At this point, we plan to offer BIB 429 Revelation with Dr. VanHorn. We may add a section of either BIB 110 Introduction to the Old Testament or BIB 120 Introduction to the New Testament or both, but that decision has not been finalized.”
